Ron's Guitar Approach at a Glance

Ron brings a very unique teaching style to the guitar with emphasis on technique and clarity. He is well qualified to teach and develop absolute beginners thru extremely advanced in all styles of guitar. 

Ron's Beginning Guitar Program truly stands out. His early development instruction has enabled many of his students to achieve the techniques required to attend major music conservatories such as Peabody, Shenandoah Conservatory and

 Berkley College of Music.

Ron is currently a recording artist with MIS Records.  He has released and toured two albums, "Elevate" and "Pieces", with the band Forwardhead. He is currently recording a 3rd album entitled

"Visceral" with the band Walk The Wreckage to be released in 2018

A native of Parkville Maryland, Jim (Franco) Theodore, a founding member of the bands Paper Cup and Shor Patrol and Arista recording artist has performed with some of the nation’s top artists, including, Neil Young, Rick Springfield, the Spinners, Heart, Eddie Money and Clarence Clemons of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. Jim was honored to be a five-time winner of the “The American Song Writer Festival” and wrote and performed the 1979 national Red Cross theme, which led to him being presented with the “American Congressional Communications Award.” Jim was inducted into “The Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame” on September 20, 2015. Jim continues to perform with many of the top Maryland bands which offers the student a unique opportunity to study with a true professional guitarist. Jim provides each student an individually personalized program in all styles of electric and acoustic guitar from beginner to advanced.

I am a native Marylander, born and raised in Baltimore. I have a career as an instrumental music teacher. I teach concert band and string orchestra to elementary, middle, and high school students. I am currently writing my own instrumental method books and my own compositions for both concert band and string orchestra.

I am a graduate from Goucher College in Baltimore, MD. I earned my certification in Administration and specializing in School Improvement Leadership (ELCC). I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Towson State University in Music Education. I currently hold a Maryland Teaching Certificate in Instrumental Music Education (N-12) and an Advanced Professional Certificate.

Yawn Jones Jr. was Born in Baltimore, Maryland, He started playing saxophone at 6 years old. He found a love for guitar when he heard his grandfather play. Yawn is influenced by various artist too numerous to name in rock ,country, jazz, blues and classical music. .In Randallstown High School Concert Band and Jazz Band ,He learned piano, clarinet and bass guitar In 1995, Yawn earned a BA Degree in Music Education from University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where he learned Jazz under the direction of Dr. John Lamkin and studied Clarinet under Dr. Smith. In Jazz Band , Yawn has played with Stanley Turrentine, Mrs. Shirley Scott, Robin Eubanks, Charles Fambrough (Bass Player) and Dorothy Donegan. He attended a Berklee College of Music summer program in 1994 for Jazz guitar. Yawn has played guitar for Groove Stu.and various bands and churches around the Baltimore and DC Area. He has done music productions for various local artists and on Def Jam (Def Soul label) in 2004.. Yawn is no stranger to education, he has taught Concert Band and General Music in Baltimore City schools for 6 years and taught in various catholic schools. Presently, Yawn is a private teacher at the Music Workshop School which helps students form their own bands, and pursue their dreams to perform.

 Edward Meyers studied Bass Trombone at the Peabody Conservatory of Music and the Juilliard School. His private teachers include members of the Philadelphia, Boston, Metropolitan Opera, Baltimore Symphony Orchestras as well as the New York Philharmonic. He has also studied arranging and composition with Hank Levy. Instructor, arranger, and drill writer for many marching bands and drum and bugle corps competing in the Drum Corps International, Drum Corps Associates, Cavalcade of Bands, Tournament of Bands, and USBands marching circuits. After a freelance career in both the United States and Europe Mr. Meyers is currently a band and orchestra director for Baltimore County Public schools in Maryland.
